Supported the Alzheimer’s Association “A Night to Remember” Gala and/or the “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” annually since 2013 – events that fund research and efforts to increase early detection and maximize quality care and support for individuals living with dementia.
Eastside Senior Services
Multiple grants awarded annually since 2016 to fund essential services including rides, grocery shopping, companionship, minor home repairs and chores to help adults 60 and older live independently and stay connected to their communities.
Greater Galilee
Grant of support in 2019 to the Greater Life Community Center that provides health, meals, wellness and financial services to multigenerational area residents.
Milwaukee Area Health Education Center (AHEC)
IOA funded and provided instructors in 2019 and 2020 for several series of the evidence-based Aging Mastery Program® offered at the Alzheimer’s Association and Westlawn Gardens. AMP was developed by the National Council on Aging, and coordinated and taught locally by Milwaukee AHEC, to encourage modest lifestyle changes that lead to improved health, well-being and community participation.
Milwaukee Christian Center (MCC)
Grant awarded in 2020 to provide masks and hand sanitizer plus basic home exercise equipment to help the older adult clients of MCC maintain physical and mental health during the pandemic.
St. Ann Center for Intergeneration Care – Bucyrus Campus
Grant awarded in 2020 to fund life enrichment services to the 158 older adult clients at their north side campus.

We aim to change the way we understand and experience aging by bringing young people into positive relationships with elders; enabling family members to have a meaningful, emotional connection, and infusing creativity into our care systems to inspire staff to feed their own creativity while inviting elders to imagine and express themselves.
